The World Golf Village's first course, the Slammer & Squire is built to honor the game of golf and the players of the past and present. Named after golf legends Slammin’Sam Snead and Gene "The Squire" Sarazen, this course was designed by Bobby Weed who consulted in the two legends to create this par 72 masterpiece. Built around wooded wetlands and indigenous wildlife, this courses beauty will take your breath away. From its old pine forest and deep white sand bunkers on the front nine, to its views of the World Golf Village towers on the back, Slammer & Squire is truly a tribute to the game of golf. With its five sets of tee boxes, the 6,939 yard course can be played from a variety of lengths creating a challenging round for the advanced golfer but also a playable course for the novice.
Since its opening in the Spring of 1998 Slammer & Squire has hosted six nationally televised events, including the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a Champions Tour event. With its service-oriented approach, beautiful landscape and amazing location the Slammer & Squire at the World Golf Village is a top vacation spot in Northeast Florida.
