Plan Your Jacksonville Vacation
Jacksonville: Warm air, cool breeze, unforgettable views, and golf for days.
Jacksonville is the home of champions.
Quite literally… It's home to THE PLAYERS Championship, one of the most recognizable PGA tournaments in the nation. As a top golf destination on the east coast, there's a reason the best of the best come to Jacksonville each year to compete for the title. Not only are there a plethora of courses to choose from, what makes the location so desirable is the scenery. With oceanfront views, rolling riverfront landscapes, wetland settings and mild temperatures, you really can’t find a golfing environment any better than Jacksonville.
You could spend weeks in Jacksonville and not fit in all of the amazing courses the area has to offer. Like Bent Creek Golf Course, set amongst Florida’s wetlands, this course is considered a hidden gem by local residents and was noted as a “top five all-time golf value” in Golf Digest. Explore Hidden Hills Golf Club, located in one of the highest elevations in Jacksonville, the design incorporates the rolling hills of the land - the makings of a competitive challenge to even the seasoned golfer.
Test your skills at Hyde Park Golf Club. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, Hyde Park is Jacksonville’s oldest public course and (fun fact) the original PLAYERS course. With the same layout since the course opened, the Southern pines and Spanish oaks that line the course will transport you to the same shot-making decisions that champions of the game pondered in the 1940’s and 50’s.
Additional courses nearby include: Blue Cypress Golf Park, Blue Sky Golf Club, Cimarrone, Jacksonville Beach Golf Club, Queens Harbor and the Windsor Parke Golf Club.
Need to practice your putt? Head to the UNF Golf Complex where you’ll find a 38-acre state-of-the-art practice facility. Enhance your shot accuracy with Toptracer Technology at Blue Sky Golf Club or try TopGolf Jacksonville where you can practice without the pressure for a casual group-friendly game or night out with friends. Get all the gear you need to swing like the elite at the PGA Tour Superstore, an absolute golfer’s paradise.
If you think the views from the green are amazing, wait until you check into your home away from home. With oceanfront resorts, luxury downtown hotels or cozy bed & breakfast inns, the area has a variety of places to lay your head after a long day on the fairway.
If you happen to have time left over, Jacksonville is home to beaches, museums, sports, shopping, art, eco-adventures and more. For a little post-game-pick-me-up, head over to Manifest Distilling, Jacksonville’s only full-scale organic distillery, and order a barrelled gin negroni in The Cocktail Room. If you’re a craft beer lover, get your Brewery Passport stamped on the JAX Ale Trail where you can pick up prizes for grabbing drinks at over 22 participating breweries.
For unforgettable courses, attractions that will keep you busy for days, and stunning scenery, plan your next golf getaway to Jacksonville. Who knows... maybe soaking in that championship air will rub off on your game a little.
